About Ciela Academy – Arts, Circus & Gymnastics School in Baakline
Mission & Vision
Our Story
Ciela Academy was founded with the vision of enriching the cultural and educational landscape of Baakline and the surrounding communities in Mount Lebanon. Initially conceived by Hanadi Rajeh, a passionate gymnast and sports instructor, Ciela Academy began as a way to offer artistic and athletic education to children and adults alike. The academy was created to provide a diverse and inclusive space for creative expression and physical well-being through disciplines such as gymnastics, circus arts, dance, theater, and more.
The turning point for Ciela Academy came in May 2023, when Hanadi decided to pursue her PhD in Sports Therapy in Europe, temporarily pausing her long-held dream of establishing the academy. However, the opportunity to realize this dream emerged when Mahmoud Ibrahim and Jamil Rajeh, owners of the historic “Theater Fakher El Deen” in Baakline, offered Hanadi their indoor space. With strong community support, Hanadi rallied former students, parents, and local partners to transform the dormant venue into a vibrant hub for artistic and athletic education.
Since opening its doors in August 2023, Ciela Academy has grown into a place of holistic learning and community empowerment. The academy now offers a wide range of programs that promote physical wellness, emotional intelligence, social skills, and psychological well-being.
Through interdisciplinary education, Ciela blends the arts with sports, emphasizing the integration of body, mind, and spirit in every student’s journey. Alongside specialized classes, the academy hosts free and open community events that engage local residents and promote cultural awareness, social connection, and lifelong learning.
Ciela Academy’s commitment to wellness extends to adults as well. The academy provides adults—especially those over 40—with the opportunity to begin or return to their sports and fitness journey in a supportive environment, promoting health and movement at any age.
As Ciela Academy continues to grow, it remains dedicated to fostering inclusive, interdisciplinary education and empowering individuals of all ages to reach their full potential.
